5. Check Insulation
   This might be one of the costlier methods on this list but in the long run, it will pay off!  Your attics, basements, and crawlspaces are places in your home that you especially want to check to ensure efficiency.
6. Adjust The Thermostat
   If you do decide to keep your climate control system running, consider turning it down 10 degrees (or off completely) when no one’s home. To make the most of it, program your thermostat to turn off or adjust during those times, and then automatically kick on when you get home from work.
