Outdoors propane storage

Storing propane tanks can be done outdoors in a place away from home. Also, if you want to keep the tanks during winter, you must understand that the cold is not an issue for propane. So, you don’t necessarily need to cover it. All you need to do is place the tank on wood or concrete.

During summer, it is a different ball game. You should put the tanks under a shade and ensure that sunlight isn’t hitting them directly— you don’t want the temperature to exceed 49°C.

Storing propane indoors

You should only store your propane tank indoors if you have the proper setup. The best area to keep it indoors is the garage or shed. You can place the storage tank directly on the floor, away from electricity.

How to hide your propane tanks

If you leave them lying around, propane tanks can make your property look off. So the best thing to do is conceal it either underground or in other ways.

1.   Using a fence to conceal it

This is a very efficient way to store your propane tanks if you don’t want them to be seen. Just construct a fence high enough for the tank not to be hidden and place it behind,

2.   Keep it underground

3.   Using rock covers

This does not mean actual rock but a special rock cover that looks like boulders designed to go over the propane tank, so it is concealed.

4.   Using flowers or shrubs

If you have to keep the tank above ground, you can plant flowers or shrubs around it to conceal it a little bit. Always ensure that the tank is easily accessible for removal and refilling as you put the plants around it. This is so you will not have to destroy the plants whenever you want to access the tank. This way, storing the propane tank is both aesthetically pleasing and practical.
